I am sharing a pAbmAbs generated literature review of KO validated antibodies. Here citing Carroll et al. PLOS Biology 2021.
Carroll et al. validate this antibody for detection of mouse MLX by immunostaining of testis and epididymis tissue (figure 2a). Furthermore Carroll et al. validate this antibody by western blotting of isolated seminiferous tubule cells from mice (Figure 6a). No fluorescence staining was observed in MLX and no band was observed in MLX-KO
Based on the available data, we have assigned a five-star rating to Western blotting and a four-star rating because of robust nuclear staining in WT testis tissue, with complete loss in KO but signal is tissue-restricted (testis-specific expression of MLX), so broader tissue testing is not shown. We highly encourage other scientists to share their observations.
