Cleaved Drosophila Dcp-1 (Asp216), Cell Signaling Technology, 9578
What do reviewers generally think about 9578 from Cell Signaling Technology?
Researchers generally report that Cleaved Drosophila Dcp-1 (Asp216) works well for Drosophila immunostaining, including IHC on L3 wing discs and ICC on eye and larval imaginal discs, often at 1:500 or 1:100, with one successful wing-disc protocol using 30 min 4% formaldehyde at room temperature. One reviewer points out that unspecific signals can appear in UAS-p35 flies, possibly due to sequence similarity near Asp216, though the antibody is otherwise used frequently and performs fine. Another notes initial background required optimization before results were good.

Used for immunostaining of drosophila wing discs. 30 minutes fixation in 4% formaldehyde at room temp. Great result.
Dilution used: 1:500

I see some unspecific signals when I use it with UAS-p35 flies, which may be caused by some unlucky sequence similarity with “amino-terminal residues adjacent to Asp216”. Other than that we use it frequently, seems to be working fine with IHC on L3 wing discs.

It took us a bit of time to make it work because there was a bit of background . Once we found the conditions it was quite good.
