Cathepsin D, Abcam, ab75852
What do reviewers generally think about ab75852 from Abcam?
Researchers report that Cathepsin D Abcam ab75852 performs well by Western blot for detecting endogenous human and mouse Cathepsin D, including pro and mature forms, in ARPE-19, HEK293, and primary mouse neuronal lysates. One reviewer points out that a KO validation showed no bands for pro-CSTD or CSTD in CSTD-KO cells, and that the antibody was used at 1:1000. The consensus is positive, with strong, clean signal and no complaints.

Review of: Cathepsin D, Abcam, ab75852 by Astrid Francisca Jacobsen
I am sharing a pAbmAbs generated literature review of KO validated antibodies. Here citing Escrevente et al. Investigative Ophthalmology & Visual Science, 2021.
Escrevente et al. validate this antibody for detection of endogenous Cathepsin D (CTSD), by Western blotting of ARPE-19 cells (spontaneously arising retinal pigment epithelia (RPE) cell line). No bands were observed in CSTD-KO for either pro-CSTD or CSTD (Supplementary figure 3B).
Based on the available data, we have assigned a five-star rating because of strong and clean signal, but we highly encourage other scientists to share their observations.
Review of: Cathepsin D, Abcam, ab75852 by Sérgio Almeida
This antibody works well for the detection by WB of human and mouse Cathepsin D, both pro and mature forms. I tested it in lysates from HEK293 cells and from primary mouse neuronal cultures. Dilution of 1:1000
