Review of: β1 Adrenergic Receptor, Santa Cruz Biotechnology, sc-568 by Camilla Gustafsen, Aarhus Universitet
Hamdani & van der Velden, VU University Medical Center Amsterdam, tested this antibody using CHO cells expressing human beta adrenoreceptor subtype 1, 2 or 3.
In WB, the antibody recognized several protein bands between 25 and 125 kDa in all three cell lines, but no band of the expected size of 65 kDa was observed.

Review of: β1 Adrenergic Receptor, Santa Cruz Biotechnology, sc-568 by Wouter H. Lamers
The specificity of this antibody was evaluated in immunohistochemistry of murine ureteres and stomach tissue, as well as western blotting of lysed CHO cells.
Immunohistochemisry showed highly distinct staining patterns in rat ureter and stomach.
However, western blotting of cells stably expressing the β1 receptor in CHO cells showed no difference in signal compared to lysates of cells with no endogenous expression. Thus we conclude that this antibody has no specificity for the target antigen.
