This antibody was tested in a systematic evaluation of a panel of commercial available Angiotensin Type-1 Receptor (AT1-R) antibodies.
The specificity of the antibody was tested in
1) Western blotting of tissue homogenates from kidney cortex and medulla obtained from WT and mice genetically deficient in AT1A-R alone or in combination with AT1B-R.
2) Western blotting of cell lysates from HEK cells transfected with His-tagged AT1-R, as control was used un-transfected cells and a His antibody.
3) Immunohistochemical staining of liver and kidney from WT and AT1A-R/AT1B-R deficient mice.
In all tests the antibody generated the same band pattern in experiment and control.

The specificity of this antibody was evaluated by Western blot analysis of tissue homogenates from hypothalamus, liver and kidney cortex obtained from WT and AT1A receptor knock out mice. No specific signal was detected in WT tissues compared to control tissues.
In addition, the antibody was tested by immunocytochemistry staining of rat hypothalamic neuronal cell line 4B transfected with AT1A receptor. 4B cells have no endogenous expression of AT1 receptors, and control staining was performed using mock transfected cells. No specific signal was detected in transfected cells compared to control cells.
