Endicott et al., BMC Res Notes describe the validation of twenty-three commercial antibodies raised against Collagen. This antibody did not stain skeletal muscle (1.100). Furthermore, it failed to detect α3 by western blotting by any of the experimental setups tested in this paper (1:500). See full description in the link to the article above.
