GABA A receptor alpha 1, Abcam, ab33299
What do reviewers generally think about ab33299 from Abcam?
Researchers generally report that ab33299 gives specific, low-background detection of GABA A receptor alpha 1 in protein lysates and tissue, with useful dilutions including 1:10,000 for hippocampal lysates and 1:250 for tissue. One reviewer points out that, using 1:3000 with 25 ug of protein, the antibody produced a specific 50-55 kDa band but the signal was a little weak. Overall, performance is positive, with specificity and low background highlighted, while signal strength may vary with dilution and sample amount.

Review of: GABA A receptor alpha 1, Abcam, ab33299 by Lars Meinertz Byg
I used this antibody in a 1:3000 dilution on lanes with 25ug of protein and got a very specific bond around 50-55 kDa. The signal was however a little week.

This was tested os hippocampal lysates from p20 mice. This showed a very nice staining with very litttle background. Used at 1:10.000

This antibody works very well for detecting GABAa receptor subtype alpha 1 on tissue. I tested 3 different concentrations: 1:100 1:250 and 1:500 and 1:250 is best as it has very low background.
