Somatostatin, merckmillipore, MAB354
What do reviewers generally think about MAB354 from Sigma-Aldrich?
Reviews are mixed. One reviewer points out that the antibody gave low signal with fluorescent conjugated secondary antibodies in IHC of spinal cord cryo sections, making somatostatin-positive cells hard to identify. Another reports high specificity and very low background at 1:1000 in DAB or fluorescence tissue staining and in cultured hippocampal cells, though IP and WB were not tested. Overall, it appears specific and low-background in some tissue and cell applications, but may perform poorly in fluorescent IHC.

Review of: Somatostatin, merckmillipore, MAB354 by Maj Ulrichsen
This antibody gave a low signal when used in combination with fluorescent conjugated secondary antibodies in IHC of spinal cord cryo sections. This made it very difficult to identify somatostatin positive cells.
Review of: Somatostatin, merckmillipore, MAB354 by Simon Jensen, Aarhus
Staining of tissue using either DAB or fluorescence showed high specificity and very low background at 1:1000.
Staining hippocampal cells in culture showed high specificity with no almost no background.
I have not tested it for IP or WB.
