We have used this antibody for WB detection of LDLR in mouse liver after iv administration of PCSK9. The antibody detects a band of expected size (100 kDa), which is down-regulated in animals injected with PCSK9. The antibody also detects a band above the 188 kDa marker band (Western blot shown). 40 µg protein (membrane preparation) was loaded, and the antibody was diluted 1:1000 in 5% milk in TBS-T.

This antibody does not work for IP of endogenous LDL receptor from HEK293 cells.
We did IPs from metabolically labelled cells (S35)and saw a lot of unspecific bands. The antibody even pulled down the related receptor SorLA.

We use 1:2000 diluted for Western blotting of lysates of 293 and HepG2 cells, and liver and brain homogenates (mouse). Detects a band of the expected size.
It stains 293 cells when used in immunofluorescense but I´m not sure that it is specific.
