Synaptophysin, Millipore, MAB332
What do reviewers generally think about MAB332 from Sigma-Aldrich?
Researchers report that Synaptophysin, Millipore, MAB332 performs poorly in their applications. One reviewer points out that immunostaining of fixed hippocampal neurons at 1:100 produced structures similar to what was expected, but relatively high background made the antibody difficult to use. Another reviewer states it does not work convincingly in Western blotting at 1:1000 or immunofluorescence at 1:100. Overall, the consensus is that the antibody gives unsatisfactory results, with background and unconvincing staining.

Review of: Synaptophysin, Millipore, MAB332 by Simon Mølgaard
Hippocampal neurons from p0 pups were grown for 10 days in vitro before being fixed. Following fixation, the neurons were immunostained against Synaptophysin (1:100). Although structures similar to what was expected for synaptophysin were observed, a relative high background was also seen, making this a difficult antibody to use.
