SorCS1, Abcam, ab237618
What do reviewers generally think about ab237618 from Abcam?
Researchers generally find SorCS1 Abcam ab237618 useful for detecting overexpressed human or murine SorCS1 in CHO cells by Western blot and for immunoprecipitation of human SorCS1. Specificity is noted, but performance on endogenous samples is poor: it did not detect p0 or adult mouse brain SorCS1, and staining of mouse primary hippocampal neurons was not convincing. One reviewer points out that background is high in untransfected cells at a 1:100 concentration.

Works well in Western blots detecting SorCS1 from CHO-cells overexpressing either murine or human SorCS1.
Does NOT detect endogenous SorCS1 from p0 and adult mouse brains. A sorcs1-/- brain lysate was used as neg. reference. Cell expressing sorCS1 was used as positive ref.

Rabbit polyclonal anti-sol-SorCS1 custom made at Dako, F7050, 5420.
This antibody was used for staining of CHO-cells stable expressing mouse SorCS1 variant c. It stains specific, but the background is also high in untransfected cells at 1:100 concentration.

Custommade antibody raised against the extracellular domain of SorCS1.
We used 5 ug/ml for staining of mouse primary hippocampal neurons.
Not convincing.
