PSD95, Sigma-Aldrich, p246
What do reviewers generally think about p246 from Sigma-Aldrich?
Researchers generally report that PSD95, Sigma-Aldrich, p246 performs well for detecting PSD95 in murine primary cortical or hippocampal neuron lysates by Western blot at 1:1000, giving clear bands after brief exposure. It is also praised for immunostaining PFA-fixed primary hippocampal neurons at 1:200, producing intense signal, clear PSD95 clusters, and low background, with one user ranking it best among tested PSD95 antibodies. One reviewer points out that it did not work in their hands for immunostaining mouse hippocampal neurons fixed in 4% PFA and that they were not convinced it would work in Western blotting.

Excellent for staining pfa fixed primary hippocampal neurons.
Neurons from p0 pups were grown for 10 days in vitro before being fixed. Following fixation, the neurons were immunostained against PSD95 (1:200). A clear and intense signal was observed with almost no background. Highly recommended!

Worked great for immunostaining mouse hippocampal neurons. A clear distinction of PSD95 clusters and background signal was obtained.
Neurons were fixed for 20 min in 4% PFA and permeabilized using PBS + 0.1% Triton X-100. After blocking, the neurons were incubated with antibody in a 1:200 dilution in blocking buffer.
This antibody was tested simultaneously with other antibodies for PSD95 (see below) and proved to be the best.
PSD95 124 014 (Synaptic Systems) – Guniea pig
PSD95 MAB 1596 (Millipore) – Mouse
PSD95 MA1-046 (ThermoFisher Scientific) – Mouse

Does not work in our hands for immunostainings of mouse hippocampal neurons. Neurons were fixed for 20 min in 4% PFA.
May work in Western blotting but I am not convinced.
