PSD95, Sigma-Aldrich, MAB1596
What do reviewers generally think about MAB1596 from Sigma-Aldrich?
Researchers generally report that PSD95, Sigma-Aldrich, MAB1596 performs well for immunostaining cultured mouse hippocampal neurons and for Western blotting, where it specifically detects a 95 kDa band. It is useful for visualizing PSD95 clusters, including in synaptosomal hippocampal preparations, with common dilutions of 1:100 for immunofluorescence and 1:200 for Western blot. One reviewer points out that, although clusters were visible, the antibody produced high background signal in their immunostaining protocol. Overall, reviewers describe it as working well and specifically for these applications.

Worked fine for immunostaining mouse hippocampal neurons. PSD95 clusters were visible but had a high background signal.
Neurons were fixed for 20 min in 4% PFA and permeabilized using PBS + 0.1% Triton X-100. After blocking, the neurons were incubated with antibody in a 1:100 dilution in blocking buffer.
This antibody was tested simultaneously with other antibodies for PSD95 (see below) and proved to be the second best.
PSD95 124 014 (Synaptic Systems) – Guniea pig
PSD95 p246 (Sigma) – Mouse (BEST)
PSD95 MA1-046 (ThermoFisher Scientific) – Mouse

Works great for detecting PSD95 clusters in cultured mouse hippocampal neurons. The neurons were fixed in 4%PFA for 20 minutes.
The antibody was used at a dilution of 1:100

Good antibody in Western blot. Recognizes a the protein of 95 kDa very specifically.
We have used for synaptosomal preparations of hippocampus where PSD95 is highly enriched in the post synaptic density fractions.
It also works great for staining cultured mouse hippocampal neurons (DIV14) as shown in the image above. PSD95 (red) and SorLA (green).
WB dilution 1:200
IF dilution 1:100
