We are sharing a pAbmAbs generated literature review of KO validated antibodies. Here citing Mufson et al. Neuroscience Letters 2010
Mufson et al. validate this antibody for detection of sortilin by Western blotting in brain homogenates of cortex from individuals with no cognitive impairment, mild cognitive impairment, or Alzheimer’s disease. Homogenates of brain cortex from sortilin +/+, sortilin +/-, and sortilin -/- are used as positive and negative control, respectively (Fig. 1).Based on the available data, we have assigned a five-star rating because of a strong and clean signal observed in the blots, but we highly encourage other scientists to share their observations.

Works perfectly for WB – detects both human, murine and rat sortilin

Sometimes also detects a band at 190 kDa and 40 kDa

This antibody was used for Western Blot on cell lysates from rat schwann cells. Specificity confirmed with cells from Sortilin KO rat schwann cells. A distinct band was visible at 95 kDa.

This is an excellent antibody for detection of mouse, rat and human sortilin by WB.
Specificity confirmed with tissue and primary cells derived from sortilin KO mouse and rat. Highly recommended.
