SorCS2, R&D Systems, AF4238
What do reviewers generally think about AF4238 from R&D Systems?
Researchers report that SorCS2 AF4238 performs well in ELISA and immunocytochemistry. It works as a detection antibody at 1 µg/mL with F7100 capture for soluble SorCS2, and as a capture antibody at 10 µg/mL for purified soluble SorCS2. One reviewer points out that using mouse m9 as detector can work but gives lower signal and higher background than F7100. For ICC at 3 µg/mL in fixed cells, it is specific, sufficiently sensitive, and shows very low or no background in non-expressing cells, with one user finding it better than F7100.

This antibody works well for detection of soluble SorCS2 in ELISA using 1 µg/mL when capture antibody is rabbit anti-human SorCS2 extracellular domain (F7100).

This antibody works really well in as capture antibody in ELISA (10 µg/mL) detecting purified soluble SorCS2. As detector antibody I have used purified anti-SorCS2 F7100 but other antibodies works e.g. mouse m9 though with lower signal and higher background as a result.

Used for ICC at 3 µg/ml concentration in 4% PFA fixed RN22 and HEK293T cells stably expressing SorCS2 variants, blocked w/ 1% BSA in PBS, stained O/N at 4C; secondary was Do-a-Sh-Alexa568. Worked fine in expressing cells, w/ very low/no background in non-expressing cells. Very specific, and sufficiently (but not extremely or overly) sensitive. Better at ICC than F7100 (http://pabmabs.com/wordpress/?p=22) in my hands in my opinion.
