ATG5, Sigma-Aldrich, A2859

I am sharing a pAbmAbs generated literature review of KO validated antibodies. Here citing Chen et al. EMBO Molecular Medicine, 2019. Chen et al. validate this antibody for detection of ATG5 by Western blotting of WT and ATG5 knockout U2OS cells. A band of appr. 55 kDa was observed in WT cell lysate, with no corresponding band observed in KO cell lysate (Figure EV2). However, the full-lane image shows that antibody A2859 detects multiple bands (>20) in both KO and WT cell lysates, with the band at approximately 55 kDa being the most prominent. Based on the available data, we have assigned a three-star rating, but we highly encourage other scientists to share their observations.
