TGF 1 beta, iReal Biotechnology, IR112-457

We generated a top 1000 list of the most studied and most published proteins and analyzed literature validation data for commercially available research antibodies. TGFB1 encoding Transforming Growth Factor Beta 1 (TGF-beta-1) is the 7th most studied gene on the list. In Chang et al., Biochemistry and Biophysics Reports; 46:102534 (2026), the authors investigate the role of TGF-β1 in lung fibrosis using siRNA-mediated knockdown in a bleomycin-induced pulmonary fibrosis mouse model. iReal Biotechnology IR112-457 is used for IHC of formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded mouse lung sections following TGFB1 knockdown, compared with a non-targeting siRNA control. Antibody dilution not provided. Data are shown in Figure 5G. Staining and the quantified positive area are reduced following TGFB1 KD, supporting detection of TGF-β1 by IR112-457 in IHC under the tested conditions. However, changes in inflammation and tissue composition may also contribute to the reduced staining, limiting the assessment of specificity. We have rated IR112-457 based on the available information and according to the pAbmAbs criteria.
