Review of: TGF 1 beta, Santa Cruz Biotechnology, sc-130348 by pAbmAbs data mining
We generated a top 1000 list of the most studied and most published proteins and analyzed literature validation data for commercially available research antibodies. TGFB1 encoding Transforming Growth Factor Beta 1 (TGF-beta-1) is the 7th most studied gene on the list.
In Chang et al., Biochemistry and Biophysics Reports; 46:102534 (2026), the authors investigate the role of TGF-β1 in lung fibrosis using siRNA-mediated knockdown in a bleomycin-induced pulmonary fibrosis mouse model. Santa Cruz sc-130348 is used for WB of mouse lung lysates following TGFB1 knockdown, compared with a non-targeting siRNA control. Antibody dilution and protein amount not reported. Data are shown in Figure 5F.
The detected band is strongly reduced following TGFB1 knockdown. GAPDH levels are shown as loading control. Data support detection of TGF-β1 by sc-130348 in WB, although changes in inflammation and tissue composition may also contribute to the reduced signal. The blot is cropped and lacks molecular weight markers, limiting assessment of band size and nonspecific bands.
We have rated sc-130348 based on the available information and according to the pAbmAbs criteria.
