Review of: SCARB2, Cell Signaling Technology, 27960 by pAbmAbs Data Mining
Our team has carried out deep research in the published scientific literature to identify papers and reports using antibodies directed against human Scavenger receptor class B member 2 (SCARB2) and followed up by extraction and evaluation of the available data to assess its performance according to pAbmAbs rating criteria.
YCharOS is here conducting a large head-to-head study comparing 12 commercial research antibodies against human SCARB2.
The collection of antibodies was tested using MCF7 WT and SCARB2 KO cells in the applications WB (WT and KO cell lysates), IP (WT cell lysate) and IF (WT and KO cells) according to YCharOS standard protocols (see reference).
In WB (1:200 ab dilution) 27960 detected a band of appr. 75 kDa in WT cell lysate with no corresponding band observed in KO cell lysate. A band was detected following IP, this band had same intensity compared to bands in input extract (6% of starting material) and immunodepleted extract (6% of total unbound fraction), showing that the antibody does not deplete the antigen from cell lysate.
In IF (1:300 ab dilution) a clear stain was observed in WT cells compared to KO when permeabilized with saponin. When permeabilized with Triton X-100, comparable staining intensity was observed in both genotypes.
