KIF5A, Proteintech, 67009-1-Ig

Our team has carried out deep research in the published scientific literature to identify papers and reports using antibodies directed against human Kinesin Family Member 5A (KIF5A) and followed up by extraction and evaluation of the available data to assess its performance according to pAbmAbs rating criteria.

YCharOS is here conducting a large head-to-head study comparing 10 commercial research antibodies against human KIF5A

The collection of antibodies was tested using U-87 MG WT and KIF5A KO cells in the applications WB (WT and KO cell lysates/60 µg protein), IP (WT cell lysate) and IF (WT and KO cells) according to YCharOS standard protocols (see reference).

In WB (1:500 ab dilution) 67009-1-Ig did not detect a band specific to WT cell lysate. A band was detected following IP (2 µg Ab used), this band was more intense compared to band in input extract (2% of starting material). A faint band was also detected in immunodepleted extract (2% of total unbound fraction), showing that the antibody does almost deplete the antigen from cell lysate. In IF (1:1000 ab dilution), comparable staining intensity was observed in KO and WT cells.
