LRP-1, Bio-Techne, MAB6360
What do reviewers generally think about MAB6360 from Bio-Techne?
Researchers report poor performance of LRP-1, Bio-Techne, MAB6360. In WB it produced faint bands not specific to WT lysate, and IP yielded a weak ~80 kDa band with incomplete antigen depletion. IF showed comparable staining in WT and KO cells, and another user observed weak IF staining in hippocampal WT neurons at 1:500. One reviewer points out that the antibody did not completely deplete antigen from cell lysate, indicating limited IP utility. Overall, reviewers suggest it is weak and nonspecific for LRP-1 detection.

Review of: LRP-1, Bio-Techne, MAB6360 by pAbmAbs Data Mining
Our team has carried out deep research in the published scientific literature to identify papers and reports using antibodies directed against human Prolow-density lipoprotein receptor-related protein 1 (LRP-1) and followed up by extraction and evaluation of the available data to assess its performance according to pAbmAbs rating criteria.
YCharOS is here conducting a large head-to-head study comparing 10 commercial research antibodies against human LRP-1 encoded by LRP1.
The collection of antibodies was tested using HAP1 WT and LRP1 KO cells in the applications WB (WT and KO cell lysates/30 µg protein), IP (WT cell lysate) and IF (WT and KO cells) according to YCharOS standard protocols (see reference).
In WB (1:200 ab dilution) MAB6360 detected three faint bands, none og which were specific to WT cell lysate. A band at appr. 80 kDa was also detected following IP (2 µg Ab used). This band was less intense than the corresponding band in input extract (4% of starting material). A band was detected in immunodepleted extract (4% of total unbound fraction), showing that the antibody does not completely deplete the antigen from the cell lysate. In IF (1:1000 ab dilution), comparable staining intensities were observed in both KO and WT.
We highly encourage other scientists to share their observations.

This antibody against the C-terminal part of LRP1 gave weak IF staining in hippocampal wild type neurons.
