Review of: hnRNP H2, Abcam, ab181171 by pAbmAbs Data Mining
Our team has carried out deep research in the published scientific literature to identify papers and reports using antibodies directed against human Heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein H2 and followed up by extraction and evaluation of the available data to assess its performance according to pAbmAbs rating criteria.
YCharOS is here conducting a large head-to-head study comparing 5 commercial research antibodies against human hnRNP H2 encoded by HNRNPH2.
The collection of antibodies was tested using DMS 53 WT and HNRNPH2 KD cells in the applications WB (WT and KD cell lysates/40 µg protein) and IP (WT cell lysate) according to YCharOS standard protocols (see reference).
In WB (1:1000 Ab dilution) ab181171 detected a faint band of appr. 50 kDa in WT cell lysate with no corresponding band observed in KD cell lysate. Following IP (2 µg antibody used), a heavy chain band was detected; however, due to its size and intensity, no conclusions could be drawn regarding the antibody. An intense band was also observed in the immunodepleted fraction (3% of the total unbound fraction), showing that the antibody does not deplete the antigen.
We highly encourage other scientists to share their observations.
