Cathepsin B, Thermo Fisher Scientific, MA5-32651
What do reviewers generally think about MA5-32651 from Thermo Fisher Scientific?
Researchers report that MA5-32651 detects a ~38 kDa Cathepsin B band in Western blot at 1:100 in HAP1 WT lysates, with no corresponding band in CTSB KO lysates, though a higher molecular weight band appears in both. One reviewer points out that immunofluorescence at 1:100 showed comparable staining in WT and KO cells, indicating no apparent target-specific staining, and no putative band was detected in IP.

Review of: Cathepsin B, Thermo Fisher Scientific, MA5-32651 by pAbmAbs Data Mining
Our team has carried out deep research in the published scientific literature to identify papers and reports using antibodies directed against human Cathepsin B and followed up by extraction and evaluation of the available data to assess its performance according to pAbmAbs rating criteria.
YCharOS is here conducting a large head-to-head study comparing 13 commercial research antibodies against human Cathepsin B encoded by CTSB.
The collection of antibodies was tested using HAP1 WT and CTSB KO cells in the application WB (WT and KO cell lysates/30 µg protein), according to YCharOS standard protocols (see reference).
In WB (1:100 Ab dilution) MA5-32651 detected a band of appr. 38 kDa in WT cell lysate, with no corresponding band in KO cell lysate. A band of higher molecular weight was observed for both genotypes.
We highly encourage other scientists to share their observations.
