Cathepsin B, GeneTex, GTX134724
What do reviewers generally think about GTX134724 from GeneTex?
Researchers report that GTX134724 detects human Cathepsin B in Western blot at 1:100, showing an approximately 38 kDa band in WT HAP1 lysate and no corresponding band in CTSB KO lysate, though higher molecular weight bands appeared in both. One reviewer points out that immunofluorescence at 1:800 gave stronger WT than KO staining but with background, and no putative band was detected in IP. Overall, it appears useful for WB, less reliable for IF and IP.

Review of: Cathepsin B, GeneTex, GTX134724 by pAbmAbs Data Mining
Our team has carried out deep research in the published scientific literature to identify papers and reports using antibodies directed against human Cathepsin B and followed up by extraction and evaluation of the available data to assess its performance according to pAbmAbs rating criteria.
YCharOS is here conducting a large head-to-head study comparing 13 commercial research antibodies against human Cathepsin B encoded by CTSB.
The collection of antibodies was tested using HAP1 WT and CTSB KO cells in the application WB (WT and KO cell lysates/30 µg protein), according to YCharOS standard protocols (see reference).
In WB (1:100 Ab dilution) GTX134724 detected a band of appr. 38 kDa in WT cell lysate with no corresponding band in KO cell lysate. Several bands of higher molecular weight were observed in both genotypes.
We highly encourage other scientists to share their observations.
