Review of: CSF-1, Aviva Systems Biology, ARP44331 by pAbmAbs Data Mining
Our team has carried out deep research in the published scientific literature to identify papers and reports using antibodies directed against human Macrophage colony-stimulating factor 1 and followed up by extraction and evaluation of the available data to assess its performance according to pAbmAbs rating criteria.
YCharOS is here conducting a large head-to-head study comparing 14 commercial research antibodies against human Macrophage colony-stimulating factor 1 encoded by the gene CSF-1.
The collection of antibodies was tested using U87-MG WT and CSF-1 KO cells in the applications WB (WT and KO cell lysates/25 µg protein) and IP (WT cell lysate) according to YCharOS standard protocols (see reference).
In WB (1:500 Ab dilution) ARP44331 detected no target protein. Bands of higher molecular weight were detected in KO cells. A band was detected following IP (2.0 µg Ab used). No band was detected in either input extract (10 % of starting material) or immunodepleted extract (10% of total unbound fraction), showing that the antibody does completely deplete the antigen from the cell lysate.
We highly encourage other scientists to share their observations.
