Transferrin receptor, Novus Biologicals, NB100-77895

We share a literature review of commercially available transferrin receptor antibodies validated in the Caco-2 cells in vitro transcytosis model by Deng et al. from AbbVie, published in PLoS One 2023. The authors screen a panel of thirteen commercial human transferrin receptor antibodies, rank their binding potency to human transferrin receptor overexpressed in BaF3 cells, test their cross reactivity to cyno and mouse transferrin receptor, and their transcytosis in Caco-2 cells compared to control IgG.
According to the table in Figure 2D, clone MEM-75 shows 7.1 fold transcytosis over control IgG and high affinity for the transferrin receptor in transfected cells (EC50 = 0.2 nM). This should be viewed in light of the best transferrin receptor antibody in the study shows 74.7 fold transcytosis over control IgG.
MEM-75 cross reacts with monkey but not mouse transferrin receptor.
