Our team has carried out deep research in the published scientific literature to identify papers and reports using antibodies directed against human Apolipoprotein E and followed up by extraction and evaluation of the available data to assess its performance according to pAbmAbs rating criteria.

YCharOS is here conducting a large head-to-head study comparing 14 commercial research antibodies against human Apolipoprotein E encoded by APOE.

The collection of antibodies was tested using HAP1 WT and APOE KO cells in the applications WB (WT and KO culture media/30 µg protein) and IP (WT culture media) according to YCharOS standard protocols (see reference).

In WB (1:200 Ab dilution) GTX635889 detected a faint band of appr. 36 kDa in WT culture media, with no corresponding band observed in KO culture media. Several weaker and stronger background bands of both higher and lower molecular weight seen in WT and KO culture media. A band was also detected following IP (2 µg Ab used). This band was markedly more intense than the corresponding band in input extract (3% of starting material). Band intensity for immunodepleted extract (3% of total unbound fraction) was reduced, showing that the antibody does in some extend deplete the antigen from the culture media.
