What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small data file that a website stores on your computer, smartphone, or tablet to recognize your device and observe how you use the website. The data file does not contain personal information such as your name and your address, it cannot obtain information stored on your device, and it cannot spread computer virus or in other way damage your device.

Today, almost all websites use cookies – in many cases, cookies are necessary for the website to function properly. Some cookies are only stored on your device for as long as your browser is open (so called session cookies), whereas other cookies are stored on your device for a longer period of time (so called persistent cookies). Every time you return to a website, the cookie is automatically renewed to always contain the newest information.

Websites may also use third-party cookies, which means cookies from other parties than the owner of the website. These cookies are often used for analysis tools.

What is personal data?
Personal data is any sort of data that – directly or indirectly – relates to you as a person. This can be your name, birthday, home address, e-mail, phone number, IP address etc.

If the data relates to your race, sexual orientation, political views, religious beliefs, union membership, health or criminal record, the data is considered sensitive and subject to stricter rules. We never ask you to provide sensitive data, nor do we collect any such sensitive data from you.

We only request data from you that is relevant to the pAbmAbs platform and its reviews.

What personal data do we collect?
Personal data is – in most cases – collected directly from you or generated as part of your use of the pAbmAbs platform.

When you submit an antibody review via our website, you are asked to provide certain information about yourself, such as your name, your e-mail address, and the university you are affiliated with. These are necessary for us to create your submission on the pAbmAbs platform and verify your identity.

You also have the option of adding a website – either your own website or the website of the university you are affiliated with.

If you use our contact form, you are asked to provide your name and e-mail address as well. These are necessary for us to communicate with you and provide our reply.

If you contact us directly via e-mail or regular post, we will collect the data necessary to reply to you. We will also collect the data you choose to provide us in your enquiry.

Storage of your data
We will keep your data for as long as they are needed for the purposes for which your data was collected and processed, or for as long as we are required to by laws and regulations.

Protection of your data
Keeping your personal data safe and secure is very important to us. We have taken both technical and organizational measures to protect your data against accidental or unlawful erasure, publication, loss, destruction, unauthorized disclosure, misuse, or any other unlawful processing.

Transfer of your data
To make the pAbmAbs platform available to its users, we use a number of IT systems. This means that some of your data will be stored with a third party. Such third parties are considered data processors and will only process your data to the extent requested by us and always in accordance with the current personal data legislation. We have data processing agreements in place for all our data processors and your data is therefore safe and sound with us and them.

We can also be required to transfer your data if it is necessary to comply with the current personal data legislation or if a public authority requires us to do so.

Transfer outside of the EEA
Some of our suppliers are based outside the EEA. This means that your data can be transferred to a third country not regulated by the General Data Protection Regulation. In such cases, we have data processing agreements in place with the supplier, which makes sure that our supplier lives up to the rules of the regulation, and we regularly monitor their certification status.

Your rights
As a data subject, you have a number of rights:

Withdrawal of consent
If our processing of your data is based on your consent, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. If you do this, we will delete all your personal data and stop all processing based on your consent immediately. We can, however, continue to process your data to the extent it is necessary to provide our services to you, or if we are legally obligated to do so, as mentioned above.

Right to information and control
You have the right to obtain a copy of the data we have on you. You also have the right to portability, meaning you can choose to move your data to another data controller, as long as this does not affect the rights or freedom of a third party.

If our data on you is incorrect or inadequate, you have the right to have the correct data registered with us. You also have the right to deletion of your data and a right to be forgotten, provided that the data is no longer necessary for us.

Right to object
If our processing of your data is based on the interest of the public, our legitimate interests, or for the use of statistics, direct marketing or profiling, you have a right to object. As a rule, we never process your data on this basis.

If you have objected to our processing, you have the right to restriction of your data while your objection is being processed.

If you wish to use your rights
If you wish to use any of your rights listed above, a request must be sent to us via e-mail or post. You can see our contact information below.

Your request must contain your contact information and a specification of which right you wish to invoke, and – if relevant – a specification of the data your request concerns. We will get back to you as soon as possible after receiving your request.

Links to other websites
The pAbmAbs platform may contain links to other websites or to integrated websites. We are not responsible for the content of websites of other companies or for the practices of such companies when it comes to the collection and processing of personal data.

Changes
We are constantly trying to improve our services and we may therefore change this privacy policy from time to time. If any significant changes are made, we will inform all our users in writing.

Complaints
If you believe our processing of your personal data is in violation of the current personal data legislation, you can make a complaint to the Danish data protection agency. Please visit their website for further information.
