By applying this primary antibody to immunofluorescence labeling you might expect very good results in paraformaldehyde-fixed tissues
Affinity-purified rabbit-anti-glutamate decarboxylase 1 (=GAD67; 198013) and affinity-purified rabbit-anti-glutamate decarboxylase 2 (= GAD65; 198103); surprisingly well suitable not only for the detection of GABAergic fibres, but also of GABAergic perikarya – notably in conventionally fixed mouse tissue. Fig 9 from Härtig et al 2016 (Neuroscience) shows the results after simultaneous use of both primary antibodies to reveal all GABAergic structures – causing only remarkably low background.
