  • Andersson et al. Nature Communications 2017 describe the validation of thirteen commercial and academic antibodies raised against estrogen receptor beta (ERbeta).
    The present antibody failed in the IHC validation step (1:60 dilution) since it recognized both ERbeta positive cells and ERbeta negative cells.
    In Western blotting it did not work. The antibody was also unable to pull down ERbeta by immunoprecipitation (IP) as determined by mass spectrometry, but pulled down numerous other nuclear proteins.
    The antibody is also provided by Thermofisher and BioRad.
