GI Syn antibody (C-20), sc-6640, Santa Cruz.
Goat anti-glutamine synthetase antibody.
The antibody was used 1:200 (1 ug/mL) on sections of mouse and rat dorsal root ganglia.
The dorsal root ganglia had beed fixed for 1.5 hrs (for mouse) or 4 hrs (for rat) in PFA. Cryoprotected overnight in 30% sucrose and finally embeded in tissue tek. The sections were cut in 10 um sections.
The antibody gave a clear specific staining of the satellite glial cells. However, in the rat sections there was some unspecific staining in the nucleus of the neurons. This was not seen on the mouse sections.
