Millipore anti-beta 1 antibody MAB1959Z clone P5D2 @ 1mg/ml lot# 2591898 & lot# 2626064 do not work in flow cytometry or function blocking applications. Previous lots of this clone that were not azide free (the “z” in the catalog #) worked beautifully in these 2 applications, but recent lots do not. The antibody will not detect beta 1 on the cell surface of Jurkat or HSB cells via flow and will not block Jurkat adhesion to CS-1. 4ug of Ab was used to label 1 million cells for flow and 30ug/ml of Ab was used to block cell adhesion.
