I have used this antibody for immunohistochemistry of 30 µm brain sections of C57BL/6J mice in a dilution of 1:1000. The optimum incubation time for this antibody is 24 hour at 4◦C. This antibody works so well in our lab.

Antibody: GFAP mouse monoclonal; dilution: 1:1,000 for Immunofluorescence and 1:7,000 for western blotting, catalogue no.: G3893 Sigma Aldrich.
Antibody works good in both mouse and rat tissue for immunohistochemistry as well as western blotting. Blocking buffer used for IHC: 0.3%BSA with 10% FCS in TBS with 0.5% triton and for Western blotting: BB [5% nonfat dry milk (sc-2325, Santa Cruz Biotechnology), in TBS + 0.1% Tween 20 (93773, Sigma)]
