This is a polyclonal rabbit anti-rat antibody raised against full-lenght alpha-1-microglobulin (A1M) expressed recombinantly in baculovirus-infected insect cells. This antobody detected A1M in homogenate from mouse kidney very nicely (diluted 1:2000) with a band at the predicted size of 27kDa. However, no reactivity was seen in WB against native human purified A1M (from AbD serotec), suggesting selective recognition of murine and rat A1M. I also used the antibody for IHC staining of murine kidney paraffin sections, where nice staining is seen in proximal tubule cells (see Weyer K et al. JNM 2013 for pictures). I further tried to immunoprecipitate murine A1M from urines but without any luck.
