This PSA-NCAM antibody was used for immunohistochemistry on PFA-fixed cryosections of embryonic and newborn mouse brain sections in Pozas et al. Neuron 2005 from Carlos Ibanez’ lab.

Antibodies directed against the polysialylated form of the neural cell-adhesion molecule (PSA-NCAM) are appropriate for the detection of brain regions with enhanced plasticity. Therefore, Merck Millipore (formerly Chemicon) offers the recommendable MAB5324 (an IgM, clone 2-2B). This marker was successfully applied to tissue sections from hibernating ground squirrels based on immunoperoxidase staining with nickel-enhanced diaminobenzidine as chromogen (Arendt et al 2003 J Neurosci – Fig 8). Moreover, PSA-NCAM was recently revealed by indirect immunofluorescence labelling with µ-chain specific secondary antibodies, which recognize IgMs but no IgGs (Mack et al 2018 Brain Struct Funct – Fig 5).
I highly recommend this antibody for IHC
