I have tested this antibody on rat hippocampal neurons. It doesn’t work very well and gives a lot of background.
Protocol details:
Fixed with 4% PFA, 4% sucrose.
Permeabilized with 0.02% Triton X-100 in gelatin
Blocked with gelatin
Antibody incubation: in gelatine, 30 min 37 degrees.
The image above shows an example of a hippocampal neuron stained for MAP2(blue) and SorLA using AF5699 (red).

I have used this antibody for immunostainings on adult mouse barin tissue as well as cultured hipoocampal neurons. In both cases this antibody worked very well for detection of SorLA.

We have used this SorLA antibody for IHC on PFA-fixed cryosections of mouse brain treated with antigen retrieval kit.
The antibody is great and sections from SorLA knockouts are blank confirming its specificity.
